Meet Our Veterinary Staff


Dr. Altman is originally from Miami, Florida and fell in love with Fort Collins when beginning college at Colorado State University. She returned to Florida for Veterinary School and graduated in 1999.

After graduation she worked in Gresham, Oregon for three years before returning to Fort Collins to purchase Animal Haven Veterinary Clinic in 2004. Dr. Altman has a special interest in pain management, preventative medicine, and weight management.

Dr. Altman has four dogs, one cat, a mini burro and a horse. While away from the clinic, she enjoys hikes with the dogs, photography, and reading mystery novels.



Veterinary Technician

Brandie is originally from a small town in Utah and grew up with a house full of animals. She knew at the age of six that she wanted to devote her life to helping animals. In 2001, she moved to Denver to obtain her degree in Veterinary Technology from Bel-Rea.  In 2011, Brandie joined Animal Haven to work for Dr. Altman and is excited to be part of the team.
Brandie shares her home with her fiance, 4 children and her three dogs. In her spare time, Brandie enjoys reading or spending time outdoors.



Veterinary Technician

Allison is one of our Veterinary Technicians and loves it! She graduated from Western Career College in Sacramento, California with an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology in 1999. She has worked in veterinary clinics in California, Arizona, Kansas, and now Colorado. Allison has two beautiful teenage daughters, and in her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, watching movies, traveling, being outdoors, and spending time with her family and friends.



Receptionist, Veterinary Assistant

Maddy grew up in a small town in Washington and was active in a 4-H dog club for 9+ years.  She moved to Ft. Collins in 2013 at attend CSU to study Biological Sciences and began at Animal Haven as a veterinary assistant and receptionist in September 2017.  Upon finishing her undergraduate degree, she intends to apply to vet school.  She has a Yellow Labrador named Radley and in her free time she enjoys hiking with Radley, cooking and spending time with her friends and family.



Veterinary Technician

Magdalena was born in Baltimore, Maryland and moved to Germany when her parents received orders from the Army in 1999.  She returned to the US to attend Colorado State University in 2013.  After some volunteering at Dog Center Europe, she was hired as an employee and began her career in the veterinary field.
In her free time, Magdalena can be found traveling, attending concerts, car shows and races or spending time with her family and friends, and her German Shepard, Cairo
