Meet Our Veterinary Staff
Dr. Altman is originally from Miami, Florida and fell in love with Fort Collins when beginning college at Colorado State University. She returned to Florida for Veterinary School and graduated in 1999.
After graduation she worked in Gresham, Oregon for three years before returning to Fort Collins to purchase Animal Haven Veterinary Clinic in 2004. Dr. Altman has a special interest in pain management, preventative medicine, and weight management.
Dr. Altman has four dogs, one cat, two donkeys and a horse. While away from the clinic, she enjoys hikes with the dogs, photography, and reading mystery novels.
Brandie is originally from a small town in Utah and grew up with a house full of animals. She knew at the age of six that she wanted to devote her life to helping animals. In 2001, she moved to Denver to obtain her degree in Veterinary Technology from Bel-Rea. In 2011, Brandie joined Animal Haven to work for Dr. Altman and is excited to be part of the team.
Brandie shares her home with her significant other, 5 children and her two dogs. In her spare time, Brandie enjoys reading or spending time outdoors.
Sheila has lived in Northern Colorado her entire life. She began working in veterinary clinics at 16 and has enjoyed learning about the different aspects of small animal medicine. Sheila began at Animal Have in October 2016. She shares her home with her senior Cocker Tasha, senior kitty Marley and two daughters that keep her quite busy! In her free time she enjoys reading, hiking, cross stitching and taking long drives in the mountains.
Veterinary Technician Assistant
Maddie grew up in a small town in Washington and was active in a 4-H dog club for 9+ years. She moved to Ft. Collins in 2013 to attend CSU and study Biological Sciences. Maddie began at Animal Haven as a veterinary assistant and receptionist in September 2017. With completing her undergraduate degree, she is applying to vet school for 2020. She has a Yellow Labrador named Radley and in her free time she enjoys hiking with Radley, cooking and spending time with her friends and family.
Kathryn recently returned from California to Colorado after 30 years. While in college for architecture and design, Kathryn began her veterinary experience with a Veterinary Assistant course as well as a job at a local Veterinary Hospital. It was so enjoyable she decided to stay in Veterinary Medicine for the past 25 years. Kathryn has two young adult sons, her mother, three Australian Shepherds and a kitty sharing her home. In her free time, Kathryn enjoys photography, painting and spending time with her family.
