Dr. Ruth Altman, Owner, Veterinarian
Dr. Altman is originally from Miami, Florida and fell in love with Fort Collins when beginning college at Colorado State University. She returned to Florida for Veterinary School and graduated in 1999.
After graduation she worked in Gresham, Oregon for three years before returning to Fort Collins to purchase Animal Haven Veterinary Clinic in 2004. Dr. Altman has a special interest in pain management, preventative medicine, and weight management.
Dr. Altman has four dogs, one cat, and a tortoise. While away from the clinic, she enjoys hikes with the dogs, photography, and reading mystery novels.
Brandie, Head Technician
Brandie is originally from a small town in Utah and grew up with a house full of animals. She knew at the age of six that she wanted to devote her life to helping animals. In high school, she worked as a groomer and took a course that introduced her to animal science. In 2001, she moved to Denver to obtain her degree in Veterinary Technology from Bel-Rea. After graduation, she worked at an emergency Veterinary hospital in Denver. In 2006, she moved to Fort Collins to study Microbiology and work at Colorado State University. In 2011, Brandie was given the opportunity to work for Dr. Altman and was excited to be part of the Animal Haven team.
Brandie shares her home with her 2 children and her American Eskimo. In her spare time, Brandie enjoys reading or spending time outdoors.
Allison, Veterinary Technician
Allison has been a Veterinary Technician for 18 years and loves it! Allison graduated from Western Career College in Sacramento, California with an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. Allison has worked in veterinary clinics in multiple states including California, Arizona, Kansas, and now Colorado. Allison currently doesn't have pets but does have two beautiful daughters aged 11 and 9. In Allison's free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, watching movies, traveling, being outdoors, and spending time with her family and friends.
Sheila, Veterinary Technician
Sheila has lived in Northern Colorado her entire life. She began working in veterinary clinics at 16 and has enjoyed learning about the different aspects of small animal medicine. Sheila began at Animal Haven October 2016. She shares her home with her senior Cocker Tasha, senior kitty Marley and two daughters that keep her quite busy! In her free time she enjoys reading, hiking cross stiching, hiking, and taking long drives in the mountains.
Maddie, Receptionist, Veterinary Assistant
Maddie grew up in a small town in Washington and was active in a 4-H dog club for 9+ years. She moved to Ft. Collins in 2013 to attend CSU to study Biological Sciences and began at Animal Haven as a veterinary assistant and receptionist September 2017. Upon finishing her undergraduate degree she intends to apply to vet school. She has a 2.5 year old yellow Labrador named Radley and in her free time she enjoys hiking with radley, cooking and spending time with her friends and family.
